Bluefish Mix
You know the drill. You pull up on some surface action, cast into the melee, come tight and then – *pop* – you’re off. You strip the line in, and the fly is gone. “Argh!!#@% Bluefish!!#@%” How about “Awesome!! Bluefish!!” instead? Bluefish make savage hits, then fight like crazy. They’re a ton of fun on a fly rod. You just have to account for their teeth. All our bluefish flies come pre-tied with 4 inches of 25 lb. looped knottable wire. In about 30 seconds, you can tie a loop in your bit-off leader, attach one of these flies by loop-to-loop connection, and get back in the water. Come tight. Enjoy the fight. Rinse. Repeat.
Bangers
For attracting blues to the surface, we really like bangers. They’re easy to cast, and make a lot of noise. We added a little maribou to make them a little sexier. It’s our favorite way to catch blues on the fly. 2 silver and 2 gold per box.
Deceivers
For near-surface and mid-way in the water column, the classic deceiver pattern works great on blues. You need a fly that’s big enough to be seen, but small enough to be taken in one bite. The profile of a deceiver is just right. We like all white and all yellow. 2 of each per box.
Half-n-Halfs
For mid-column and deeper, a Half-n-Half gives you a sinking fly with some body to it. Our Half-n-Halfs are modestly weighted. They sink well, but they’re comfortable to cast. 2 blue and white per box.
